Participation Agreement and Liability Waiver

Alchemy with Ameila

(hereinafter Amelia Griffiths) 

 

And 

You ‘the client’

 

I, the client, have chosen to receive healing from Amelia Griffiths out of my own will and without coercion.

 

I am aware that entering this agreement means to receive coaching, talk therapy, massage, energy healing, breathwork, yoga, dance and movement.

 

I represent and warrant that I am physically fit and have no medical conditions that would prevent me from participation in the Sessions. I understand that it is my responsibility to, if in doubt, consult with a physician prior to and regarding my participation.

 

I am aware that Amelia Griffiths is not a licenced physician or psychotherapist and does not proclaim to be one. I understand that I will not be asked to do anything illegal, immoral or against my will.

Massage benefits include pain relief, relaxation, blood pressure moderation, stress reduction, and anxiety relief. Unfortunately, there are some risks to massage therapy that you should be aware of before engaging.

• Blood Clots

The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) cautions massage therapists about the risks of massaging a client with high blood pressure. The pressure exerted during a massage could potentially cause arterial plaque to rupture and release blood clots into the system. Though the risk is low for such an event, blood clots can travel to the heart or brain. Clients with deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a condition that causes blood clots to develop in the deep veins of the body, are especially at risk. Massage greatly increases the risks of a clot being released and traveling to the lungs.

• Nerve Damage

Some forms of massage, such as deep tissue massage and tantra massage, require the massage therapist to exert pressure past the skin layer in order to manipulate muscles and connective tissues. During tantra massage, if a participant does not communicate and does not give feedback to Aude Barras, this may bring about the exertion of too much pressure, resulting in temporary nerve damage to a participant.

• Infectious Skin Conditions

A number of infectious conditions of the skin can be transmitted during massage, despite the best efforts of Amelia Griffiths to screen participants within reason. These include herpes, cold sores, shingles rashes, warts, and ringworm. Likewise, as in the case of warts, during tantra massage, people may unknowingly spread the contagion from one area of a person’s body to another or to themselves.

• Temporary Side Effects

Side effects, otherwise known as purification effects, may include temporary pain, soreness, discomfort, bruising, swelling, and a sensitivity or allergy to massage oils. Also, nausea, vomiting, temporary diarrhea, emotional expressions, and emotional release may exhibit, among other conditions.

I understand that the process is a spiritual and healing experience and does not in any way replace mental or medical advice or therapy.

 

I understand that the tantra therapy does not include mutual touch and the session will be terminated instantly if instigated. 

 

If I have any concern about the effects that this experience may have on my physical, mental or emotional condition, I understand that it is recommended that I consult a physician or therapist.

 

Amelia Griffiths has the right to end the relationship at any given moment, should she believe that the client is in better hands with a licensed therapist. In such a case, the remaining sessions will be refunded in full.

In exchange for participating in the Sessions, I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators, and personal representatives, hereby knowingly, voluntarily and expressly waive, release, discharge, and hold harmless Amelia Griffiths from any and all liability for any and all injuries, including death, damages, or claims relating to or resulting from my participation in any Sessions, now or in the future, foreseen or unforeseen. Further, I will indemnify and hold harmless Amelia Griffiths from and against any and all claims, rights, damages, liabilities, losses, loss of employment-related costs, and all other costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or in connection with any injuries to other persons or damage to property caused by or attributed to me.

Payment for all services must be made in full, 24 hours before the session starts.

​

There are no refunds available if cancellation is less than 24 hours. Prior to that, refunds are at the discretion of Amelia Griffiths.

 

I understand that by paying for the services of Amelia Griffiths, I am agreeing to the terms above.
